Scope of this declaration

This declaration on accessibility applies to the services in accordance with the German Accessibility Reinforcement Act (BFSG) that the Lufthansa Group company, listed in the imprint with its name and address, offers or provides on the website www.lufthansa-city.com. This declaration was prepared on 25th June 2025 and will be reviewed and updated in accordance with the applicable legal standards.

Description of the applicable requirements

The applicable accessibility requirements result from the BFSG, which transposes Directive (EU) 2019/882 (“European Accessibility Act” or “EAA”) into national law. For services, the legal requirements for accessibility follow from Section 3 (1) in conjunction with Section 1 (3) BFSG and from the Ordinance to the Accessibility Reinforcement Act (“BFSGV”), which was issued on the basis of Section 3 (2) BFSG. The obligation to issue accessibility declarations for services follows from Section 14 (1) No. 2 BFSG in conjunction with Annex 3 to Sections 14 and 28 BFSG and, with regards to accessibility, from Section 14 (1) No. 2 BFSG in conjunction with the BFSGV. 

When fulfilling the requirements of the BFSGV, the technological state of the art must be observed for services within the meaning of Section 1 (3) BFSG in accordance with Section 1 in conjunction with Section 3 (1) BFSGV. With regards to this, the harmonized European standard EN 301 549 applies, which declares the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (“WCAG”) to be binding. Conformance level 2.1 AA currently applies.

The website www.lufthansa-city.com is the website of Lufthansa City Airlines, an airline of the Lufthansa Group. This website provides essential information about flight bookings, flight information, company information and career opportunities at Lufthansa City Airlines. 

Detailed information on the respective flight offers and services can be found on the websites of the Lufthansa Group, for example at www.lufthansa.com. Explanations of the services offered are also available there.

Descriptions and explanations that are necessary to understand how the service is provided

Before booking a flight, consumers can use our website to find out about flight connections, fare options and additional services as a first step. This is also possible in plain language. After selecting the desired flight connection and entering the travel data, a link is provided to a personalized flight offer on the website www.lufthansa.com.

Description of how the service meets the relevant accessibility requirements

Certain accessibility requirements apply to the Lufthansa City Airlines website in accordance with the BFSG and the accessibility standards referenced therein.

The website must, in accordance with this

  • perceptible (i.e. the information and components of the website must be presented to users in such a way that they can perceive them)
  • operable (i.e. users must be able to handle the components of the website and the navigation)
  • understandable (i.e. the information and handling of the website must be understandable) and

Lufthansa City Airlines implements conformance level 2.1 A, AA in accordance with the European guidelines and achieves a conformance level with the status: partially compliant: only parts of the content are compliant.

Our website is largely compliant with the requirements. There is only a small amount of content that makes it difficult for people with disabilities to access information or accessibility. The content listed below is not fully accessible:

  • The flight booking form is not fully accessible. For barrier-free flight bookings, please refer to the Lufthansa.com booking portal
  • Not all PDF documents are accessible
  • Complex plans and maps, e.g. route network.
